Dear Ancestor…

October 11, 2013

I came across this recently, and being the mad genealogist that I am, I thought I’d share this with you.  I often think about my ancestors…the many great-grandparents…and wonder what they were like.

Thank you for sharing because it would be nice to explore during the cold winter months that are right around the corner. 🙂

It’s strange to think that all of those people had to live in order for us to exist, yet for the most part they’re complete strangers to us. With a little effort, we can change that. Thanks for posting this.

Glad you like it. I’ve been doing my family genealogy for years now and am totally amazed at how much we can find out about our ancestors. I have found connections to the Winthrop Society, Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Civil War, Fenian War, GAR, DAR, UEL, World War 1, homesteading in western Canada, southern rich landowners…so, so much that it is mind-boggling. And I actually like history now…never did as a kid.

the only two certainties, the legacy you leave behind and where your body will lie, it’s great to see the value of love, timeless, like love itself, great idea i might try it myself. whatever the past though, the future will have it’s moments too, amen

“the legacy you leave behind”…if everyone would think about this, the world would be a better place.

that’s what we do when we share, we ease the worries of others, it’s really that simple,

Hello! I’ve been researching my family tree for years as well! I think that we may be distantly related? Charlotte Hill married Frank Evison who is my great uncle. Frank’s brother, William St. Thomas Evison, is my great grandfather. I’ve been blogging about the Evison family for a few months. My blog is called “In Search of My Ancestors” http://insearchofmyancestors.wordpress.com/ The blog is a little difficult to follow (sort of on purpose LOL) and I’m still adding to/revising it. I didn’t want to put my e-mail address here and I’m not that familiar with how WordPress works. How can we correspond with each other (I have questions about the Evison family that perhaps you may be able to answer?!).
